How do I cut off the extra leaves on my plant and how do I know which ones to cut?

Usually when we cut off extra leaves they are in the outside row. When you remove them try to improve the symmetry, by making it look like a circle, when you look at it from the top. The leaves can be pinched off with your finger nails, near the centre of the plant.

Sometimes the extra leaves are another little plant growing off to one side. This little plant, called a sucker, should be cut out with a sharp pointed knife. Even though it has no roots you can plant it and put a plastic bag over it, for about a month, until it gets started.
